Days of our Lives is bringing back a blast from the past. Actor Ivan G'Vera is reprising his role as villainous Ivan Marais, the loyal companion of Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel).

There's always room for more entertaining evil in Salem, and the powers that be at Days of our Lives have dug into the show's history to bring a little more to the table. Actor Ivan G'Vera is set to step back into the shoes of devious character Ivan Marais.

As fans of DAYS may recall, Ivan Marais made his debut on the NBC soap back in 1992. The classic character started out as Lawrence Alamain's manservant but quickly fell under Vivian Alamain's spell and became her loyal companion. The pair stirred up tons of delicious trouble over the years, like when Ivan helped Lawrence and Vivian cover up Lisanne Gardner's murder by staging a phony car accident in 1992, when Ivan aided Vivian in her crazy scheme to kill Carly's patients and bury her alive in 1993, and when Ivan aided Vivian Alamain by rescuing her and Laura Horton from the mental institution Pinehaven in 1994.

Ivan's reason for helping Vivian in all of these adventures was the same: he'd been in love with her for years but was unable to ever tell her how he felt. Eventually the pair drifted apart, and Ivan became wildly successful and wealthy when he began working in the film industry in India. He was last seen in September of 2011, when he returned to Salem to lure Vivian away with a starring role in his new feature film.

Soaps reported the news of G'Vera's return. Stay tuned for more details on when he will return to Salem and when Louise Sorel will be back as DAYS' Vivian.

As Soap Central previously reported, other upcoming DAYS returns include Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady), Jay Kenneth Johnson (Philip Kiriakis), and Bryan Dattilo (Lucas Horton)!
